KHOU 11, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Houston, Texas is seeking a Producer for our daily talk show, Great Day Houston. This role is responsible for producing daily show segments for our award-winning show. Because Great Day is a live, 1-hour show every day, this position requires a creative thinker who is also organized and thrives at delivering on tight deadlines. A solid visual and editorial sensibility is essential.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic, strategic thinker and team leader with a positive attitude. A strong awareness of social media trends and skills with different platforms is important.
Key responsibilities include:
Develops, books, produces daily segments for 9am audience
Writes, proofs and reviews scripts, graphics and other show elements
Creates daily social media posts based on show materials
Works with the Executive Producer and Sales Department on client scheduling
Works as required on other locally produced programming
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
Three (3) to five (5) years producing news and magazine format shows in mid to large markets
Rundown software experience (preferable ENPS)
Line producing experience desired
